SEASON 1

001: Things Change

Leo intro voiceover: "The Purple Dragon gang has us trapped in a dead-end alley. The only way out... is through them." (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

The TMNT are enduring another one of Splinter’s training sessions in the old lair. All is going as usual until the lair starts to shake and crumble. Suddenly, a horde of Mousers burst through a wall. A big battle ensues between the mechanical menaces and our heroes. Just when it looks like the Turtles have defeated the Mousers, there is a cave-in in the lair that separates the TMNT from Master Splinter.

The Turtles communicate with Splinter via Shell-Cell, and agree to rendezvous in another part of the sewer system. On the way to the rendezvous point, the TMNT are forced to go above ground, and in so doing interrupt a Purple Dragon robbery. During the course of this side adventure, Raph manages to get locked inside the Dragon’s Armored Truck. The rest of the guys can only watch and follow as Raphael gets hauled off with the loot.

By taking rooftop shortcuts the other three Turtles are able to see where the truck stops to unload. The ninjas drop down, dispatch a couple of Dragons and free Raph. But, just as they are about to make their exit, the TMNT are surrounded by a number of Dragons and Foot Soldiers. A battle royal occurs in the alley outside the Dragon warehouse. The Turtles do just fine, but the bad guy reinforcements just keep coming. Therefore, the mutants decide to "borrow" the armored truck and get the shell out of there.

After ditching the truck in an abandoned sewer tunnel, the TMNT finally rendezvous with Splinter, who has a discovery to share with them. The Sensei has stumbled across an old abandoned chamber in the sewer system, and has decided this will be their new home and HQ. After inspecting the cavernous space, the Turtles couldn’t agree more, and we leave them as they are beginning to make things tidy for living.

002: A Better Mousetrap

Intro: The TMNT are following a Mouser to find out where they are coming from and Don is thinking these robot rat-catchers are pretty cool, even as he seeks to destroy them. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

Mike and Don are in the lair with Splinter. Mike is setting up his video wall, a floor to ceiling stack of TVs and computer monitors, and Don is studying one of the disabled Mousers from first episode (Things Change). Raph and Leo arrive on the SewerSled after getting the rest of their belongings from the old, trashed, lair. When Mike plugs in the video wall, the first thing that comes on screen is a TV report about Baxter Stockman and his latest invention, the Stocktronics Mouser. The TMNT and Splinter watch intently as Stockman talks about the very robots that destroyed the old lair and almost destroyed them. The TV report also introduces them to April O’Neil, Stockman’s assistant, for the very first time. As the report ends the TMNT want to immediately go find Stockman and put a stop to his Mouser project, but Splinter forbids another above ground adventure in light of what happened last time.

Later that night, Don gets the damaged Mouser he has been working on fixed and the guys decide to follow it home, in spite of Splinter’s warning.

Meanwhile, back at Stocktronics, April has her suspicions about the whole Mouser project and her boss’ motives, and she starts to investigate by breaking into Stockman’s private office. She discovers a secret door to a secret elevator. Being the inquisitive type, O'Neil decides to see where the elevator goes. After a long trip down, the elevator finally stops at a massive underground Mouser assembly and storage facility. There are hundreds of Mousers lined up and more being produced. This is way more Mousers than the city could possibly need to solve the rat problem! April concludes that Stockman must have some other goal in mind. As O'Neil is continuing her investigation, Baxter shows up and discovers her. The inventor confronts his assistant and then sends a group of Mousers after her as she tries to escape in the sewer tunnels.

We now have April running away from the Mousers in the sewers and the TMNT following a Mouser towards Stockman’s lab in the sewers. Inevitably the two groups cross paths and a huge Turtles Vs Mousers battle occurs. The Turtles defeat the group of Mousers that were after April, but when April finally gets a good look at her saviors she passes out from the shock of seeing four giant Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The episode ends with the TMNT trying to decide what to do with an unconscious young woman. Stay tuned!

003: Attack of the Mousers

Intro: Mike is a little nervous about all the TMNT being in the Mouser storage facility surrounded by currently de-activated Mousers. It’s quiet, too quiet. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

From the last episode, the Turtles have taken the unconscious April back to the lair and have explained to Master Splinter that they had no other choice. As this discussion is going on April wakes up, freaks out again, and passes out.

In the meantime, the Mousers are breaking into a bank vault from underground and stealing all the contents, cash, stocks, bonds, jewels, etc. When the police finally arrive and get the vault door open, all that is left is wreckage and a hole in the floor.
Back at the lair, April has finally awakened and decided that the giant talking turtles and rat are real and she had better deal with them. Splinter retells the origin story for her, with appropriate accompanying animation. As Splinter is wrapping up the tale of the TMNT, Mike sees a report on TV about the bank robbery and calls everyone over to watch and listen. It doesn’t take but a second for everyone to figure out what caused all the damage and robbed the bank. April then proceeds to tell all she knows about Baxter Stockman, Stocktronics and the Mousers. After hearing April’s tale, the Turtles decide to raid Stocktronics and put an end to the Mousers for good.

April helps the guys break into the Stocktronics lab. After making their way past all the guards and security devices, the TMNT and April find themselves in the Mouser storage area, surrounded by currently de-activated Mousers. Just as the silence is getting creepy, things start to get active and a light comes on in the control room to reveal Baxter Stockman at the Mouser control panel.

After an exciting battle, the TMNT manage to escape the lab floor and break into the control room, capturing Stockman inside. After Stockman deals with the shock of 4 giant talking ninja turtles, he activates a program to have all his mousers descend on the control room and destroy everything within. As we hear the Mousers closing in, the Turtles and April try to override the system instructions, but nothing seems to be working. With everyone distracted by the Mousers, Stockman manages to escape the lab.

Just as it looks like it's curtains for our heroes, April manages to stop the Mousers, but only by activating a self-destruct sequence. There is no time to waste, and the TMNT and April rush out of the lab back into the sewer tunnels, leaving Stockman to be dealt with at another time. Meanwhile, as Stockman is running from the lab, he is collared by the Shredder’s huge henchmen, Hun. Oops! Stockman’s got some explaining to do.

We end with April being welcomed into the TMNT family and Stockman feeling the wrath of a severely disappointed Shredder. The only thing Stockman can provide of any value is a hazy thermal image of the TMNT, leaving Shredder wondering about this new and unexpected problem.

004: Meet Casey Jones

Intro: Raph facing off against Casey Jones in the park, before they know one another, each ready to take the other's head off. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

Raph and Mike are sparring in the lair, and things are starting to get a little out of hand. Mike keeps getting the better of Raph, and Raph is getting madder and madder. Finally, Raph grabs a broken chair leg and is about to club Mike with it when Leo steps in to calm things down. “Raphael, have you lost your mind?” After realizing what he was about to do, Raph heads topside to cool off and think things over.

We are introduced to Casey Jones in his apartment as he watches the reports of crime on his TV sets. As the news ends, he gathers up his sports gear weapons, puts on his hockey mask and heads out to battle crime in his own way.

As he walks the streets to cool off, Raph encounters Casey handing out some street justice to a few Purple Dragon gang members. At first Raph stays on the sidelines believing that Casey is doing a good job, but when Casey goes a little extreme in his punishment methods, Raph steps in to keep things in perspective. Casey takes offense at being interrupted and he and Raph end up going at each other tooth and nail. Casey eventually rides off on his motorcycle into the night... after he knocks Raphael out cold with a sucker punch.

Meanwhile, back at the lair, the boys have discovered a weird hidden chamber in their new digs. It’s a strange elevator up to an abandoned warehouse. The warehouse is a perfect space for a garage and Don’s workshop. The guys are exploring the new space as Raph returns home and fills them in on his encounter with Casey. Raph then convinces his brothers to help him find and stop this crazy vigilante.

That night the Turtles sneak out and go looking for Casey Jones in the Battle Shell. The group finds Casey riding his bike into Central Park and they give chase. Raphael hops on the Sewer Cycle and after a brief skirmish, knocks Casey off of his motorcycle. The hot-headed ninja finally begins to talk some sense into Jones when they both realize they've been surrounded by Purple Dragons. A battle royale ensues and it takes the full teamwork of the TMNT and Casey to beat the bad guys, but beat them they do. The episode ends with the Turtles taking Casey into their confidence and somewhat reluctantly welcoming him as an ally.

005: Nano

Intro: Don is driving the Battle Shell in a junkyard, caught in a battle with the huge Nano-Monster... and things aren’t going well. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

We open at an ultra-tech lab, with Dr. Marion Richards conducting some more experiments on the U.S. Government research project named “Nanotech”. She watches a containment vessel through a powerful microscope as millions of microscopic robots, nanobots, disassemble a toaster and an alarm clock and then reassemble the pieces into something entirely different, a tiny, strangely human-looking contraption. This tendency of the nanobots to try to emulate humans is considered to be a big problem, and, therefore, Dr. Richards is disgusted when it happens once again. She zaps the nanobots with a charge of electricity, causing them to return to their dust-like state, and then leaves the room in disgust. After she leaves the room, the nanobots take the opportunity to break out of the containment vessel and flow out of the lab through the air ducts.

Once out in the city, the nanobots flow along the sidewalks and streets like a puddle of mercury. At one point in their journey they come across a father and son holding hands watching a street vendor demonstrate his toy wares. The street vendor is Harry the Pickpocket, a petty thief with a bad outlook on life. After ripping off the father’s wallet, Harry hurries down an alley, unaware that the nanobots are following him.

Harry slips on the bots, spilling the contents of his toy display case. As the toys smash into pieces on the pavement they are engulfed by the nanobots and re-assembled into a weird looking mechanical child, complete with a crude boombox voice. The strange creature walks towards Harry saying "Daddy", over and over. At first Harry is petrified but then he sees a demonstration of the nanobots abilities and becomes intrigued with the criminal possibilities.

Harry adopts the little creature and uses it to break into all sorts of shops, including several that are in and around April’s "2nd Time Around" antique store. All these mysterious and unexplained break-ins are causing April to be concerned for the safety of her shop, so she asks the TMNT to spend a few nights at her place. The Turtles gladly agree, both because April is their friend and because they are into the idea of a sleep over.

During the night, Harry and his nanobot accomplice do indeed break into April's store. When the TMNT go down to investigate the noise, they run head on into Harry and the Nanobot. A fight erupts between the Turtles and the Nanobot as it tries to help Harry escape. During the fight, Don manages to cut off a piece of the Nanobot with an old welding torch. After Harry and the Nanobot escape, Donatello studies the piece and discovers the true microscopic identity of the strange robotic monster. The rainy turtle also discovers that the little nanobots are destroyed by extreme heat.

Deciding that they have to catch this nano-monster before it gets bigger and more powerful, Don develops a tracking device that allows our heroes to track the nano-monster and Harry to a junkyard. The TMNT arrive in the Battle Shell and a full-scale war ensues between the 'bot and the Turtles. As the Nanobot fights, it continually grabs pieces from the junk around it and absorbs the pieces into itself, growing larger and larger. The Turtles need to do something fast, before the nano-monster gets too big to defeat! Through teamwork, the TMNT manage to snag the nano-monster with one of those giant junkyard electro-magnets. Harry spots this predicament and runs over to the crane, cutting its power in hopes of freeing his ally - but without power, the magnet drops Nano into a blast-furnace below, ending its twisted life outside the lab. Harry sees the end of his “child” and realizes he made a big mistake in the way he “raised” and used the innocent little nanobot.

006: The Darkness on the Edge of the Town

Intro: Don is in the East river explaining the situation that brought he and his brothers here to battle the Foot. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

The guys are engaging in some extreme sports activities in the lair, when suddenly the lights go out. Splinter suggests they go topside to check things out. The Turtles use this opportunity to do a little above ground shreddin’ and thrashin’ on their boards, bikes, skates and scooters. The teens pick an area around the Metropolitan Museum of Art to get extreme. In the midst of their fun and games they notice a couple of Foot Ninjas breaking into the museum. They obviously can’t let this go uninvestigated, so into the museum they go.

The TMNT discover a group of Foot Ninjas trying to steal a particular sword from a Japanese artifact exhibit. The Turtles fight the Foot, but the bad guys end up making off with the sword as police sirens approach the museum, forcing our heroes to retreat into the sewers. The TMNT managed to snag an insignia off one of the Foot Ninja’s costumes during the skirmish, and when they show the logo to Master Splinter he acts very mysterious and forbids them to investigate further until he has meditated on the matter.

Back at Saki’s palace, Hun enters carrying the mysterious sword in his gloved hands. The weapon gives off some type of powerful vibration that requires all but Oroku Saki to wear gloves when handling it. After examining the sword, Saki tells Hun to take it to the Foot Tech division.

Not being able to conduct further investigations into the theft of the sword, the TMNT are kicking back in the lair, when suddenly the power goes out again. Don consults his computer and discovers that the center of the power outage is the South Street Seaport. Rationalizing that Splinter did not forbid them from investigating another power failure, the guys go topside to check into the blackout.
What they discover is a group of Foot technicians setting up a cannon like device with the stolen sword at its center. Upon activation, the sword starts to vibrate and tremble, emitting a powerful energy ray that the Foot then use to sweep at the river causing the water to part, thus exposing the river bottom. This activity also causes various other structures in the area to shudder violently. Fearing that the buildings will collapse, the Turtles decide to take matters into their own hands and shut down the “magic” sword. As the TMNT battle the Foot Ninjas protecting the area, the Foot technicians continue their sweep of the river.

As the battle rages on, the Foot technicians seem to find what they were looking for on the river bottom and call in a helicopter to haul it up and way. With their prize claimed, the Foot Techs prepare to shut down the cannon, but the Turtles interrupt them and a skirmish erupts. One of the Techs fires a laser that gets blocked and damages the cannon, causing the machine to go out of control. The TMNT rush to shut the sword-cannon down before it causes massive destruction on the waterfront. The Turtles manage to shut things down and grab the sword just as the city police arrive on the scene.

The TMNT bring the sword back to the lair where Splinter deems it a genuine mystery, putting it next to the TCRI canister for further study. In the meantime, back at Saki’s palace, he is incredibly angry at his troops for two things. First, the item they recovered from the river bottom was not what he was looking for and, second, they lost the sword. The troops explain about the intervention of these weird ninja frog, lizard, turtle beings, and we close with Saki vowing to get these unexplained pests out of his hair.

007: The Way of Invisibility

Intro: Raph is strapped to an examination table, not knowing where he is, how he got there or what’s going on. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

Open with Saki ranting about the meddlesome mutants who have ruined several of his plans. He accuses Hun and Stockman of screwing up and allowing the mutants to ruin things. The angry leader orders the pair of underlings to cooperate for a change to find and, possibly, destroy the mutants.

Meanwhile, Splinter is teaching the TMNT a lesson about the “Way of Invisibility”. The training session isn’t going too well when Casey arrives at the lair unexpectedly (and uninvited), causing things to go from bad to worse as Jones becomes the annoying guest from hades who won’t leave. However, Casey did come for a reason, to show the Turtles pictures of the graffiti going up all over the city that threatens the Turtles. Casey wants Raph and the others to go topside and teach these disrespectful taggers a lesson, but the ninjas smell a trap and tell Jones the bad graffiti isn’t worth troubling about. The TMNT return to their training training as Casey kicks back, showing no sign that he intends to leave anytime soon.

After more accidents, Splinter finally has had enough of Casey’s company and, reluctantly, tells Raph to go topside for some fresh air with Mr. Jones. Raphael and Jones jump at the chance to get outside, and everyone else breathes a sigh of relief at Casey’s departure.

When Casey and Raph get up to the surface, they happen upon several Purple Dragons spray-painting more graffiti. Jones convinces his mutant ally that they should teach these creeps some respect. Casey and Raph easily defeat the three Dragons, but suddenly reinforcements arrive - Baxter Stockman's Foot Tech Ninjas - and they have the power of invisibility! Raph correctly deduces that these bad guys are wearing cloaking devices that make them invisible to the naked eye. Since it's very difficult to fight what you can’t see, Casey and Raphael get knocked out. The Foot Tech Ninjas carry Raph off and leave Jones behind for the Dragons to deal with.

When Raphael comes to, he discovers that he's strapped to an examination table, surrounded by probes and other medical equipment, in some sort of lab. Hun and Stockman are observing him. Seeing Raph gain consciousness, Hun begins to question him, while Stockman stays in the background waiting for his chance to dissect this strange creature.

In the meantime, Casey escapes the Dragons and returns to the lair and explains what happened to Raphael. While the tale of invisible ninjas is a little hard to swallow, there is no denying that Raph has been kidnapped, so the crew heads out to find their missing brother by using the transponder in his Shell-Cell to track him. Don hands out his new "TurtleVision" goggles, which should allow them to at least see thermal images of the invisible ninjas.

As the guys are heading out in search of Raph, he quite unexpectedly and easily manages to escape. When the fugitive Turtle climbs the stairs from the lab, he discovers that he's on a yacht in the middle of the Hudson River. No problem, since Turtles are amphibious! Raph jumps off the ship and swims to shore. Watching his escape are Hun and Stockman. It turns out that the escape has all been prearranged in the hopes that Raphael will lead the Foot Tech Ninjas to the rest of the mutants. Stockman explains to Hun that his invisible soldiers will follow Raph without him even knowing he is being trailed.

Raphael and the others meet up in the sewer tunnels far from the lair, and assume all is well until suddenly they are under attack from invisible forces. Don instructs everyone to put on their TurtleVision goggles and, viola, they are able to see thermal images of the Foot Tech Ninjas. With the odds now evened, the TMNT and Casey are able to defeat the Foot and return home to the security of their lair.

Hun and Stockman are now left to deal with Saki’s wrath one more time due to another botched mission. However, based on his brief period of interrogation, Hun tells Saki that he does not believe the mutants know anything about Saki, The Foot, or Saki’s enemies, The Guardians.

We close with a sneak peak of these mysterious Guardians. A Guardian spy reports to a trio of odd individuals that the strange Turtle creatures are apparently not aligned with Saki, at least not yet. The trio tells the spy to learn all he can about these creatures, and they will wait for more information before taking any action against them. Spooky!

008: Fallen Angel

Intro: Casey comments on his current predicament, being chained up and ready to be torn apart by an angry mob of Purple Dragon gang members. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

Open with a group of Purple Dragons about to rob a store. In the group is a young girl, Angel, trying to prove herself worthy of being made a Dragon. She seems nervous, but eager to be accepted by the gang. Just after Angel throws a brick through the store window, the TMNT and Casey drop in to break up the break in. As the battle rages, April decides to beat feet out of harms way, but she is chased by Casey Jones. He catches the girl and discovers that she is someone he knows from the old neighborhood, a girl he promised he would look out for. Casey starts lecturing Angel about her poor choice of friends and career move, but gets blind-sided by another gang member and Angel runs off. When the Turtles pick Jones up, he explains the situation to them and tells them he needs to find and save his young friend.

Casey spots Angel going into the Purple Dragon’s fight club and he stealthily follows her in to see what’s going on. It turns out that aspiring new gang members are going through an initiation ritual tonight, one that involves an elimination bout in a fight cage. Jones watches for a few minutes, but when Angel is about to get clubbed Casey dons his mask and jumps into the ring to save her. When the Dragons see that one of their most hated enemies has shown up on their turf, they go crazy and surround Casey, screaming for his head. The hulking Hun steps in, knocks Casey out and tells his minions they will have to wait a bit to rip Jones from limb to limb. Casey gets hauled off to a holding cell, while Angel hides in the shadows.

Angel breaks into the room holding Casey’s cell, but she's unable to pick the lock of the cage door. Jones tells the girl to go get help from his "unique" friends, and then gives her the address of the Turtles' garage warehouse. When Angel gets to the garage, she is certainly surprised at the sight of Jones' allies, but she takes things in stride because Casey is in urgent need of help. After the girl explains the situation to the TMNT, they all rush over to the Dragons' fight club in the Battle Shell.

The initiation fights are still going on when the Turtles and Angel sneak into the audience (the TMNT are wearing street clothes as disguises). Angel, Mike and Don go to free Casey from the apparatus holding him captive above the main ring, while Leo and Raph plan a diversion. The scrappy mutants decide to enter the elimination bout as Dragon initiates. All is going well for the dynamic duo until part of Raph’s disguise is torn off, revealing the Turtles to the Purple Dragon gang. A battle royale ensues.

Angel, Mike, Don and Casey join Leo and Raph just in time to save their shells, but when Hun joins the fight things take a turn for the worse. However, Donatello saves the day when he uses his newly installed remote control to have the Battle Shell break through the doors of the fight club and speed them out of harm's way.

In the end Casey delivers Angel back to her grandmother and the girl agrees to stay away from the Dragons and get back on the straight and narrow path.

009: Garbageman

Intro: Don is climbing up a giant mountain of garbage. When he reaches the top and peers over the edge, we get a glimpse of an unbelievable site. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

Two homeless guys doing their rounds of trash cans, looking for returnable bottles and cans and other valuable stuff. The men don’t realize it, but they're being followed by a monstrous garbage truck. The vehicle corners them in a dead-end alley and grabs them with its hydraulic tentacles.

The next day, the TMNT are visiting their homeless friend, the Professor, in shantytown. The Turtles give the Prof useful clothing and the Professor gives the mutants things like old computer parts and comic books. During this exchange, the Turtles notice that there seems to be a few less homeless folks around these days. The Prof tells them that people have been disappearing and the rumor is that somebody named the Garbageman is responsible. The TMNT aren’t quite sure the Prof knows what he’s talking about, but they tell him to keep them posted on any further disappearances and then they ride off in the Battle Shell. The Professor won’t get a chance to get any info to the TMNT because later that night the garbage truck invades the shantytown and grabs the remaining homeless there, including the Professor!

Donatello returns to the site the next day and discovers the wreckage and realizes the Professor’s story might have been right. He calls the other Turtles and they begin an investigation. After some legwork and research, the TMNT discover that all the disappearances have occurred down near the docks. The Turtles take the Battle Shell to the docks and set a trap using Mikey as a decoy to see who or what shows up. Just when it looks like there will be no action, the garbage truck arrives to take the bait. A truck vs truck battle ensues, with the TMNT’s Battle Shell being the apparent winner when the garbage truck runs off the end of the pier.

However, when the guys go over to see who climbs out of the submerged truck they are surprised to see the vehicle driving away underwater! As the truck moves out of view, the Turtles see that it's headed for the huge landfill island out in the middle of the river. To solve the mystery, they now know where they have to go.

The TMNT swim over to the landfill island and scale the massive pile of garbage. As they look over the top, they see all the homeless, including the Professor, in chains sorting through mountains of trash. The enslaved workers are under the watchful eyes of guards with electric prods and some disgusting mass of flesh calling himself the Garbageman. The Garbageman is ranting and raving and mistreating his homeless slave workforce. When the villain threatens the Professor, the Turtles have had enough and they charge down, free all the homeless folks and battle the guards and the Garbageman.

At the conclusion of the battle, the Garbageman falls into the river, wheelchair and all. The Turtles dive into the water to find their foe, but all they see is his empty chair. The ninjas go back to the garbage island, where the Professor is overseeing the operation to return everyone to the city. The TMNT bid farewell to their friends and head for home themselves - not knowing whether or not they'll run into the Garbageman again.

010: The Shredder Strikes, Part One

Intro: Leo comments on the challenge he faces with his brothers as a wall of Foot ninjas approaches. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

The TMNT are practicing in their lair, attempting to convince one another what the best weapon is. Leonardo ends up winning the skirmish and remarks about the superiority of the katanas when Master Splinter shows up and teaches the teen a valuable lesson - it's not the weapon that holds value, it's the wielder.

Leonardo is confused and frustrated by his treatment by Master Splinter and goes to a rooftop to blow off some steam. A nearby Foot Soldier shoots an arrow at the mutant, but right before it is about to strike him, Leo turns and cuts the missile out of the air with his katana. Looking at the two pieces of the arrow lying on the rooftop, Leonardo notices there is a note attached to it. The message is from Saki, inviting Leo to meet him later that night at an abandoned warehouse. Intrigued by the note, Leonardo decides to go to the meeting on his own, without telling anyone. What the ninja doesn’t know is that his brothers have been watching him, because he’s been acting a bit strange lately.

As Leo leaves to meet Saki, the other three Turtles follow him, sticking to the shadows out of sight. Leonardo enters the warehouse while his brothers climb to the roof and peer in through a skylight. What they see when they spy in is Leo surrounded by 13 ninjas. Since there are only 13 ninjas Mike, Don and Raph figure the odds are pretty fair and they decide to let their brother handle things for at least a little while longer.

Leonardo makes pretty quick work of defeating the 13 ninjas. Once the Foot are all on the floor, Saki enters the picture and congratulates Leo on his ninja skills. Saki introduces himself and explains to Leonardo that he is the leader of a group of ninjas that is fighting a great evil that is trying to take over the world. He invites Leo and the other Turtles to join forces with he and his Foot ninja to battle against this evil force. Sensing Leo’s hesitation, Saki tells the Turtle to meditate on his offer over night and let him know tomorrow. Before parting, as a gesture of goodwill, Saki gives Leonardo a fine, centuries old, katana.

Unknown to all in and on the warehouse, these events have been observed by two mysterious ninjas, who we will come to know as the Guardians. The Guardians report what they have observed of the encounter between Leo and Saki to a group of three eerie individuals, who are some kind of governing council. Upon hearing the report, the council tells the Guardians to continue to watch the Turtles and to destroy them if they join forces with Saki.

As Leo makes his way back to the lair, his brothers surround and confront him. Leonardo tries to explain why he met secretly with Saki and what the Foot's leader had to say, but his brothers aren’t buying their enemy's story and a big argument ensues, followed by a short and potentially deadly battle between Raph and Leo. In the end, Leonardo decides to do what he should have done at the start: talk to Master Splinter.

After hearing Leo’s tale, Master Splinter sighs and tells the Turtles it is time that they heard the story of his early life. Splinter was once the pet rat of a great ninja master named Hamato Yoshi. The Sensei also tells his students about the evil Saki, also known as the Shredder, his right-hand man Hun, and their troops known as the Foot. Splinter explains how Saki killed Yoshi, and in the course of the battle between the two, how he escaped to the sewers, became exposed to the mutagenic ooze and found the Turtles.

The next day, Leo and his brothers travel to the warehouse rendezvous point and return the old sword to a large group of Foot ninjas and tell them to tell their boss “no thanks”. Not taking rejection very well, the Foot attack and a massive battle ensues. Just when the Turtles think they have defeated all of the Foot and can go home, Hun arrives. The brothers do not fare well against their giant foe, and Hun grabs the ancient katana and attacks Leonardo with it. Leo prevails by jump kicking Hun through the skylight, causing the villain to fall onto the warehouse floor far below. The battle seems won, but another group of Foot ninjas arrive, this time they're accompanied by the Shredder, dressed in his full and frightening suit of armor. The Shredder tells the Turtles that if they are not with him then they are against him and he will destroy them. We end with the Shredder and his Foot troops massed to attack the Turtles. Stay tuned!

011: The Shredder Strikes, Part Two

Intro: Leo comments on the challenge the Turtles face as they stand before a wall of Foot ninjas and the Shredder, in full shredding armor. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

We pick up the action form the previous episode on the roof of an abandoned warehouse, with the Shredder and a mass of Foot soldiers ready to attack the TMNT. The Shredder and his Foot attack and a huge battle on the roof unfolds. During the action, Leo swings at a Foot soldier but misses and hits an electric transformer instead. The transformer starts sparking and then erupts into flames, causing the whole roof to catch fire. The TMNT and the Foot battle on in spite of the fire, but suddenly the roof collapses from the fire and the weight of the combatants.

In the meantime, Splinter has emerged from his meditation and has realized that the TMNT must have gone after the Shredder on their own. He high tails it out of the lair to look for them, but on his way out he grabs one of Don’s electronic gadgets, the remote for the Battle Shell.

As Splinter heads to the scene of the battle, the Turtles are picking themselves up out of the debris of the burnt warehouse. However, in the collapse they have become separated from each other. Therefore, vastly outnumbered by the Foot that are looking for them, the mutants stick to the shadows and try to find each other. Don finds Mike, who has injured his ankle. The two avoid the Foot soldiers and enter an apartment bathroom via an open window, where Donatello wraps Mikey's badly sprained limb - unfortunately, a child opens the door to the bathroom the Turtles are working in and blows their cover. Raphael hides in a dumpster until he has the opportunity to take out some Foot soldiers, and then he's grabbed from behind - by Master Splinter. Raph and Splinter find Donny and Mikey and after a battle where the Sensei gets to kick some shell of his own, they call the Battle Shell remotely and head out to find Leonardo. While searching for his brothers, Leo has an encounter with a mysterious ninja, who calls himself a Guardian. However, before Leo can introduce the Guardian to Splinter and his brothers, the mystery ninja vanishes.

Leo climbs into the Battle Shell and our heroes are reunited. After listening to the Turtles describe what has gone on so far in their battle with the Shredder and the Foot, Splinter concludes they must take care of the Shredder once and for all. The Turtles prepare to charge off and confront the Shredder, but Splinter tells them to let the Shredder come to them. They park the Battle Shell below a fire escape and go to the roof of another building.

It doesn’t take long for the Shredder and the Foot to find the TMNT and Splinter, and another epic rooftop battle begins. This time the Turtles manage to defeat all the Foot soldiers, but the Shredder out matches them. However, Splinter steps in and, through a series of tricky moves, manages to have the Shredder contribute to his own demise by causing a water tower to collapse on top of him, washing him right off the roof. As Shredder tries to stand after his long fall, the remains of the tower smash him into the ground.

Thinking they have beaten the Shredder and the Foot, Splinter and the TMNT set off for home. But just at the close, we see the Shredder’s hand emerge from the wreckage of the water tower. It looks like the Turtle s assumed too much, and that the Shredder will return at some point...

012: The Unconvincing Turtle Titan

Intro: Mikey is dressed in a weird looking “superhero” costume and he tells us about his exciting superhero team-up adventure with the Silver Sentry. (This basic scene repeats itself later in the main action).

The TMNT are out on a training exercise above ground and Mike is talking about how peaceful it has been since they kicked Shredder’s butt. Further, he thinks the Turtles should be doing more to enhance the greater good of mankind. The other Turtles think this is a funny notion and tell Mike to get serious and to quit reading so many comic books.

A little further into the exercise, the Turtles come upon a burning building where a child is trapped on one of the upper floors. Mikey wants to rush in and save the kid, but Leo tells him the fire department has it covered and Mike should stay put. Before Mikey can grumble too much, in flies the Silver Sentry, a well-known local superhero. The Silver Sentry saves the child and puts out the fire, receiving a round of applause from everyone in the vicinity. Mike is awestruck at seeing one of his heroes in action and he tells his brothers that they should become super heroes, wear costumes and help the city in a more open way. The rest of the TMNT tell Mikey that he has really lost it now. Mike shuts up... but he doesn’t forget.

Back at the lair, Master Splinter is training Leo, Don and Raph, but rather than paying attention to his exercises, Mike is doodling some sketches of costumes that the TMNT might wear as super heroes. Splinter is upset with Mike's lack of attention to the lesson, and Raph grabs the sketchbook and the guys all have a big laugh when they see Mikey's designs. Mike appeals to Master Splinter that the Turtles should become super heroes so they won't have to hide in the shadows, but the Sensei once again cautions against being seen or drawing attention to themselves. Splinter explains that there are different paths that one must walk - and Michelangelo must choose his. Mike gathers up his sketches and heads topside, where he seeks the advice and help of April O’Neil.

April tells Mike that he should follow his dreams, and she helps him develop a superhero costume, by using articles from her second-hand shop. Mike settles on a costume that consists of a cape, a ski mask and a shield. He proclaims himself “Turtle Titan”, and paints a TT on his chest.

Wearing his Turtle Titan costume, Mike heads out on patrol. However, every time he tries to do a good deed something goes wrong and he ends up looking guilty or silly. Also, the people that Mikey tries to help are all in trances until a robotic bug is seen scurrying away from them, at which point the people return to normal with no knowledge of what just happened and they get angry or afraid of Mike. At the end of his last heroic misadventure (with a bus driver being mind-controlled by the strange bug-like device), the Silver Sentry swoops in to save Mike’s shell. Mikey is initially awestruck at the chance to meet his hero, and the pair have a discussion about the perils of super heroics. As Silver Sentry prepares to leave he tells Mike to leave the superhero stuff to him because someone could get hurt - and it will probably be the Turtle Titan. However, just before he leaves, Mike tells him he should take a look at one of the robot-bugs that he caught. After examining the bug, Silver Sentry concludes it’s the work of his arch enemy, Dr. Malignus.

Silver Sentry takes off to follow the robot-bugs communications signal to Dr. Malignus’ lair, and Mikey follows along on foot, trying to keep up. Even though Mike falls far behind he does see the warehouse Silver Sentry goes into. When Mikey enters the building he discovers that one of Malignus’ bugs has attached itself to the Silver Sentry and Sentry is doing Malignus’ bidding!

Malignus has Sentry attack Mike, and things look pretty desperate for the hapless Turtle Titan - and Mike decides that Master Splinter was right (again) and it's time to remove his costume and handle things as he was trained to - as a ninja! Unfortunately the Silver Sentry's super abilities once against allow him to gain the upper hand in the battle, but then Mike remembers the training move that Splinter had been teaching them earlier and uses it to avoid an attack and then hop onto the Sentry's back and remove the bug. Mike then teams up with Sentry to defeat Malignus.

Once Malignus has been locked up and taken away, Silver Sentry thanks Mike for his help, but he still warns the ninja to leave the superhero stuff to trained professionals. After the day’s activities, Mike thinks this is good advice and he heads back to the lair feeling like being a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is just fine. When Mikey gets back to the lair, the guys tease him and he walks silently to the TV area and grabs the remote, turning on the evening news. We see the Sentry being interviewed, and he thanks the Turtle Titan for his help. Leo, Don and Raph look upon the screen in shock and ask Mikey if it was him who helped the superhero. Mikey stands up and states that he's a Turtle, not a titan - and then asks Splinter to renew their training session.
